This research study explores the traditional handicrafts of Ganjifa cards, Chitari art, and wooden toys in Sawantwadi, Maharashtra and Goa, examining their historical origins, cultural significance, economic challenges, and preservation efforts. Artisans face challenges including raw material scarcity, limited economic opportunities, and gaps in policy implementation.The research reveals how these traditional art forms serve as repositories of mythology and cultural knowledge, while also exploring innovative applications and collaborations to ensure their continued relevance.
