Cultural Identity
Being one of the earliest material sources used by human beings, stone continues to influence identities both culturally and economically. Architecture has been stone’s initial and primary area of influence in different parts of the world While the stone craft tradition of Jabalpur can be attributed to Bhedaghat and its resource-rich landscape, the heritage town of Orchha reflects the essence of stone through its iconic monuments, inspired by its Bundela heritage.
