The lion population has faced the threat of extinction, Post-independence, the Indian government stepped up and banned lion hunting in the year 1955. Subsequently, they established a wildlife conservation program for the Asiatic lions in 1965, converting Gir into what it is today: a wildlife sanctuary.There is challenge to meet the needs of an expanding species that covers an ever-expanding territory that coincides with the human population living in those areas. Maldharis (a community that lives inside the protected areas), experts, researchers, and safari guides.Therefore, this report explores how an expanding lion species can coexist with the local human population
