Theme
Faith and Religion
The study analyses Sarnath as a culturally important site with intersections between religion, history, and development in the present time. While Sarnath is known for being associated with Buddhism and giving birth to the first sermon delivered by Buddha there, it has maintained its relevance due to all the different people who use the place – monks, residents, vendors, and tourists.
