Ghoomar, a traditional Rajasthani dance form, in which we can explore the interplay of culture, gender, and caste in contemporary Rajasthan. Originating as a devotional dance among the Bhil tribe, Ghoomar was later adopted and refined by Rajput royalty The research highlights tensions between tradition and modernity, exemplified by the difference in opinions over solo versus group performances, whether men should also be allowed to learn the dance form.
