Tea, often known as an “Indian drink”,In this study, we explore the political economy of tea by studying how it forms social relations in places of consumption and places of production. In Pune there is tapris, amruttulya, and cafes/restaurants which forms their idea of tea as a social drink. In the Nilgiris, because of the existence of plantations and factories, tea is considered an economic drink
