Tholu Bommalata is an ancient art of shadow puppetry, a powerful form of storytelling that utilizes singing, dramatic colloquies, and moving puppets to create an enthralling visual spectacle.This art is gradully declining due to contemporary media and the lure of more lucrative income streams. The research explains complexities of Tholu Bommalata and the artisan community that keeps it alive. It also highlights role of women in the community of Nimmalakunta, as they are key figures in preserving the art form.
