Board games are significant cultural artefacts, and India's rich tradition of game design has been widely documented. However, existing literature conflates the terms “Gyan Chaupar” and “Snakes & Ladders” interchangeably, This report examines the design change that transpired between these two games and explores the prevalence and popularity of Snakes & Ladders today.
