The Būta Kōlā is a ritual culture originating from South India in which possession finds expression through performative art, it is widely practiced by various communities residing in the region of Tulu Nadu. There is lack of information regarding the evolution of the culture, its narrative elements, and the practices followed, particularly in response to changes in society. This research examines these umexplored areas. The perspectives of various members of the community is also mapped out to develop a deeper understanding of the Kōlā culture in the context of the society it thrives
