Ramanagara: The Silk City
This study intends to analyze the relevance of the industry to Ramanagara through three objectives; the factors involved in bestowing it with the “Silk City” title, the roles of caste, class, and gender of sericulture laborers, and the influence of neoliberal forces since 1991 on the working of the industry.
